Uncharted movie cancelled! The world is a better place.

May is turning out to be a great month. Not only was Bin Laden finally killed but now film director David O. Russel has dropped out of the Uncharted movie. Ok…this actually isn’t as important as the world’s #1 terrorist getting his brains splattered across a wall but I still think it’s great news.

I’ve posted about the drastic changes that would be made to the Uncharted story and the casting of the horrible actor “Marky Mark” Wahlberg as Nathan Drake here and here.

Russel supposedly left due to creative differences. I’m guessing that somebody with a clue decided that Russel’s ideas where terrible and that he either make changes or leave. He chose option #2. The film will also be written by someone else so hopefully this new person will be one that understands the franchise and will capture the spirit of the series.

All in all this is a good day for video game fans. While there is no guarantee that the Uncharted movie that will be made will be any good it’s certainly going to be better than Russel’s version would have been.

Stephen Spielberg would be a awesome Director for the movie don’t you think he did direct Indiana Jones after all.
