20120909-210154.jpgNow there are plenty of great PSP games to load on your Vita but there are only a few that truly stand out as must have titles. I will list five must have action games that are great and worth loading onto your overpriced memory card.

5. Mega Man Hunter X

Saying this game is hard is an understatement. I have yet to meet a person who has been able to beat this or ANY Mega man game. For that reason alone this game is on the list at number five. This platformer is addictive, challenging and has plenty of replay value. It’s also a great game to play with friends and pass around to see who can beat the next ridiculously difficult next level.

4. Metal Gear Solid: Peace walker

When the Vita was first unveiled and I saw the new analog stick the first game that popped up in my head to play was MSG: Peace Walker which comes in at number four. The ability to reassign the face camera buttons to the new right analog stick is a godsend. The extra screen real estate is also a bonus. There is no better feeling then sneaking behind an enemy and choking him out while sitting at your desk at work.

3. Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories

Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories was great on the PSP and in my option even better on the Vita which is why it is number three. The colorful city pops thanks to the new OLED screen. GTA is one of those games that everyone wants in a portable form. Nothing beats running around an open world causing chaos. Vice City & Chinatown Wars are just as good but for me Liberty City is the must have GTA game loaded on the Vita.

2. God of War: Ghost of Sparta

I think it’s safe to say that in the realm of PlayStation that God of War is a classic franchise. With that said God of war: Ghosts of Sparta is clearly a must have and comes in at number two. The series gave new life to the PS2 and when the PSP was released, everyone was anticipating God of War: Chains of Olympus. I loved that game as well but Ghost of Sparta was just that next level on the portable device. The game really felt like its big brother on the console. The cinematic cut scenes look beautiful on the Vita, and until they make an official Vita title, Ghost of Sparta will do just fine.

1.The Warriors

The Warriors offered such an immersive gaming experience that it is truly deserving of the number one spot. For those unfamiliar, this is not a movie game as you play as the warriors three months prior to the movie. This gives the developers a chance to create a new story for the gang and eventually lead to the actions in the film. The graphics, retro soundtrack and overall game design is top notch. Rockstar games are known for paying close attention to detail and this is no different. The fact that it feels so much like the console version really puts a smile on your face. Another great feature is quick brawl mode in which you compete three on three gang brawls in various interactive locations. The ability to switch between playable gang members is a great while in a brawl. I have to say smashing a bottle over an opponent’s head or performing a shoot takedown with some ground & pound never gets old. You can play against the CPU or a friend. The quick brawl mode alone has turned this game into a party favorite.

So there you have it, the top five must have action PSP games on your Vita. I’m sure some of you guys have a few already loaded but I guarantee that these five are all money and time well spent.
